The Bank of Lancaster has set up a fund to help Tom and Sylvia Saunders. The
info is at Middle Neck News website. The Saunders Relief Fund has been set up
at Bank of Lancaster to assist Tom and Sylvia Saunders. If anyone would like to
make a donation, please make checks payable to: The Saunders Relief Fund, c/o
Bank of Lancaster, ATTN: Hazel Farmer, P.O. Box 1869, Kilmarnock, VA 22482.
You may mail a check or drop it off at any Bank of Lancaster office. Ida On
Behalf Of Jessica and Paul Servis Jessica and I had a short visit with Tom and
Sylvia. They are both fine. Tom told us that the fire started around 11 am.
He noticed smoke while watching TV. Sylvia was not at home at the time. Tom got
the dogs out and called 911. He attempted to get things from the house, but
the smoke was too bad and the fire was spreading rapidly. The fire department
arrived in 12 min. but too late to save the house. There is only a charred
frame left standing. They lost all of their belongings. Tom and Slyvia will be
staying with family in the area.
