The skies cleared around noon last Saturday at Stratford Hall, and for the
next hour the birding was quite good. I watched a small flock of
golden-crowned kinglets in the small trees along the riverbank from the
Mill Overlook Trail, then spotted two yellow-throated warblers up in the
canopy and a pair of blue-gray gnatcatchers along the path. The best bird
of the day was an unexpected view of a blackburnian warbler (life bird)
high in the treetops.
At home, there are 4 eggs in our bluebird box, and lots of goldfinches are
busy at the thistle feeder.
