KCGC is the King Carter Golf Course, located south of Kilmarnock just off
Irvington Road. HQ is Hills Quarter, the community associated with the
golf course. NNAS is the Northern Neck Audubon Society.

A slight setback, this week, but overall the news is heartening. In one
box of 4 young, 2 birds fledged and 2 were dead; apparently from being
drenched in one of our thunderstorms. But the heartening news is that
there are 3 new complete nests with no eggs, yet. Yes, it is late in the
season but the bluebirds don't always read the press about their schedule.
At the tree swallow nest there are 3 young and one egg that may still
hatch. Stay tuned. Here are the details:

Eggs: 5.
Young: 23 in 6 boxes.
Fledged: 18 from 5 boxes.
Other: 1 tree swallow egg and 3 young, just hatched.
Chickadees fledged for the season: 10.
Tree swallows fledged: 4.
Bluebirds fledged: 177, with 28 in the pipeline.
