KCGC is the King Carter Golf Course, located south of Kilmarnock just off
Irvington Road. HQ is Hills Quarter, the community associated with the
golf course. NNAS is the Northern Neck Audubon Society.

A few more first brood fledges and the Tree Swallows fledged. Egg
production is continuing, but at a slower pace than the first broods. And
a new report for the 'other' news: there is a mallard nesting in the golf
course parking lot. She has picked out a safe place for the nest and she
will lead the babies to the nearest pond when they hatch. And a new case
of predation; 4 eggs disappeared from the box at the #4 tee restrooms. We
have no explanation; the usual guards are in place. A trail mystery.

Here is the summary:
3 new complete nests with no eggs.
Eggs: 38 in 10 boxes.
Young: 12 in 3 boxes.
Fledged: 16 this week.
Other: Tree Swallows fledged 4. Mallard on nest.
Chickadees fledged for the season: 10.
Tree Swallows fledged: 4.
Bluebirds fledged: 109.
Stay tuned..........Tom
