The Northern Neck Audubon Society Presents: The Peregrine Falcon, a Species of
Concern
Dr Brian Watts, Director at the Center for Conservation Biology of The College
of William & Mary and the Virginia Commonwealth University, and VDOT employee
and Master Naturalist Theresa Tabulenas will present a program on the
Peregrine Falcon, a Species of Concern.
Theresa will narrate a video of her participation in the rescue of Peregrine
Falcon chicks from their nest under the Tappahannock bridge on May 23, 2016.
Dr. Watts will present a program on the national restoration effort the Center
for Conservation Biology, along with numerous partners, spearheaded in 1978 in
an effort to reintroduce the Peregrine Falcon in Virginia.
The program, which is free and open to the public, will be held on June 6,
2016, at Grace Episcopal Church, 303 S. Main Street, Kilmarnock. Refreshments
and social time at 3:15 PM, and the program will start at 3:30 PM.
