Bluebird Nesting Box Project Northern Neck Audubon Society 2013 Final Report This marked our 34th. year for building Bluebird Nesting Boxes and we have completed over 29,000 boxes. This surely has had an effect on the number of bluebirds in this area. With 22 workers participating over a six day period, we built 424 boxes. The number is not as large as some years, but the dedication of our workers and their care given in their work produced boxes of the highest quality ever. As for many years in the past, we were able to build the boxes in Al Pollard's workshop in white Stone and to use the warehouse at the Planning Mill in Kilmarnock to store the boxes. If you see Al Pollard, Sherry Ketner or Ann Gills, please thank them for the use of their facilities. This year we had a new stand for one of our miter saws and it worked very well. We will try to get another one for next year. Some improvements can be made to the boxes and will be incorporated into next year's project. Improving the quality of the boxes continues to be our goal and any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks to all of you who were able to participate this year and we hope all of you will be able to work in the future. Paul Servis can use any help he can get in distributing the boxes. If you would like to help or know of new distributors that might sell our boxes, please contact him. Ron Feldman and Fred Witschey Our boxes are still only $ 15.00 ! They are made from long lasting Cyprus wood. If you need a great Christmas present for a special person NNAS BB boxes are available at the Tri Star Super Market in Kilmarnock. If you need more than a few call Paul Servis at 435 1788 and he will arrange for a delivery.
