I heard the Master Gardeners in Petersburg were restoring Wilcox Lake to its original (to country club days) shrubbery gardens so I went to see what they had done. The access to the restoration was closed but the lake was populated by hundreds of great cormorants and a pair of mature eagles! I was so surprised to see such a large number of cormorants so far inland but they were having a wonderful time fishing, sunning on logs, flying back and forth and what I assumed was impressing the ladies: displaying wingspan and splashing about.
