Subject: Audubon Club Birdwalk of Jan. 11, 2016 @ Vir-Mar Beach area
Hi Reta,
Lance made it this morning for the 8:30 AM Audubon Club Birdwalk at
Vir-Mar Beach area led by Frank and Linda Schaff. I stayed home as I feel
like a cold is coming on and it was 32 degrees when Lance left our house.
Brrr! Eleven hardy souls were on the walk and they totaled 23 species as
follows:
Black Scoter, Double-Crested Cormorant, Bufflehead, Red-throated Loon,
Ruddy Duck, Ring-billed Gull, Bald Eagle, Killdeer, Red-bellied Woodpecker,
Tundra Swan, Sharp-shinned Hawk, European Starling, Northern Flicker, Turkey
Vulture, Eastern Bluebird, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Northern Cardinal,
American Goldfinch, Dark-eyed Junco, American Crow, Common Goldeneye, Great
Blue Heron and Northern Mockingbird.
Lance returned home after around 11:00 AM. He had a nice time. There
was a lot of chatting and socializing. He doesn't think anyone went out for
lunch.
I hope to join you on the next walk.
Happy Birding,
Maryalyce for Lance Johnsen
