A service of the Northern Neck Audubon Society---
Hi There,
We had a wonderful walk led by Frank Schaff yesterday morning at
Beaverdam Park in Gloucester at 9:00 AM. We had 18 members and guests
go on the walk in nice weather.
Here is the list of species seen:
Osprey, Bald Eagle, Tree Swallow, American Coot, Purple Martin,
Northern Cardinal, Common Loon, Great Blue Heron, Double-crested
Cormorant, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Downey Woodpecker, Cedar Waxwing,
Red-bellied Woodpecker, Mallard, Turkey Vulture, Ruby-crowned Kinglet,
Blue Jay, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, American Crow, Tufted Titmouse,
Carolina Chickadee, Carolina Wren, Gray Catbird, and a Yellow-throated
Warbler. Three additional "Auditory" birds were heard: Ovenbird,
Northern Parula and a Pileated Woodpecker.
Eleven of us were able to go to lunch at Olivia's in Gloucester
Courthouse. It was delicious and a good time was had by all.
Happy birding,
Maryalyce J. Johnsen
