Disregard the first message !!!!! Lets all take time out to remember Henry Bashore, this Wednesday afternoon, 4 pm at Hickory Hollow !!!!!!! Henry was a leader in preserving Hickory Hollow, Bush Mill Stream and other special places that we love and enjoy. NN Audubon to Hold Flashlight Memorial and Trail Dedication to Henry Bashore at Hickory Hollow On 12-12-12 the Northern Neck Chapter of the National Audubon Society invites all to a trail dedication to Henry Bashore (deceased Dec. 16, 2010). A bench on the trail with a memorial plaque will also be dedicated. The trail has been recently enhanced by many identified and labeled trees in his honor. Meet at the Hickory Hollow parking lot at 4pm to walk the trail, followed by a flashlight memorial by the bench at dusk. Henry Bashore was the state forester for many years for Lancaster and Northumberland counties. In 1999, as a member of the Chapter and the NN Native Plant Society, he was one of several individuals responsible for Hickory Hollow's purchase and conservation as a natural area preserve.
