Hi Everyone,
The following are some notes from the October 2nd meeting. Jeff
demonstrated his new Amazon Fire tablet and talked about how it worked in
conjunction with the Amazon Prime service. More information can be found
about the Amazon Fire Tablets as well as the Amazon Prime service by
visiting www.amazon.com. Jeff talked about how he was able to save about a
hundred dollars a month by discontinuing his Comcast TV service and
replacing it with the Amazon Prime service which costs about ninety nine
dollars a year, as well as purchasing a digital antenna which allows him to
get thirty television stations for free.
Ray demonstrated the Blind Square app and how it works in conjunction with
the Four Square app. Ray uses these apps on a regular basis and feels
that they provide for better and less expensive GPS navigation than the
Seeing Eye GPS app. The Blind Square app has a one time cost of thirty
dollars whereas the Seeing Eye GPS app comes with a yearly fee of seventy
dollars. The Blind Square/Four Square app combination is superior because
it announces specific information as to the intersection that you are
approaching or crossing. All apps can be located and purchased in the
Apple app store or you can read all about them on the following websites
