[nhab-tech] February technology notes

Hi folks,
Hope all are staying well and warm in the midst of this very snowy, freezing
wonderland!

Here are the notes for your review. I will resend the revised tech list
again as apparently, the list itself is refusing attachments.

The next meeting will of course be on Friday March 7th. Look forward to
seeing you all there.

If you have any questions or comments, we would like to see them on the new
list!!

 

Marie and Nancy

 

* There were no show and tell items this month, however we discussed
downloading descriptive movies from blind mice mart;

A few good movies that were mentioned were; Brokeback Mountain, The Passion,
Dribing Miss Daisy.

 

The group had several suggestions to help Nancy with her phone finding
settings regarding icons.

 

At the upcoming March meeting we will split the group and help each other
with their different I pieces then in april we will do the Android stuff.

 

The Bia app was mentioned. It is agreat  app that one downloads and uses to
locate other useful apps for varied purposes. 

(I users, go to the app store and you will find it there)

 

Nancy talked about Google Chrome being excellent for visually impaired users
to bump up font.

 

The  new free WindowsEyes/Microsoft consolidation  offer was also discussed.

 

A couple of folks tried to help Cherie by looking for the manage add ons
options to see if the disable an apple pop up could be found.
