We noticed in the latest Statesman 12/7, there is an article about a public
scoping meeting to discuss the expansion of a variety of outdoor
recreational opportunities and a forest health project near Rickey Point.
Preliminary recreational options include: development of a disc golf
course, installation of a traditional or 3-D archery range, expansion of
the Park’s trail system, and the development of a Kettle River Water Trail
for non-motorized watercraft. The meeting will be at the Community College
Campus, 985 N. Elm, on Dec. 20 at 6 pm.
This could be a good opportunity for NEWT members to attend.
