Attached is a summary of the Forest Service proposal to remove mountain
bike trails from the Colville National Forest. This is part of the Forest
Revision Plan that will locked-in these decisions for the next 15 to 20

The NFS is now in the comment period for this Proposal, but our time is
very limited. All comments must by submitted by YOU (not NEWTs), in
writing or electronically, on the above website by July 5, 2016.
Importantly, no comments after that date will be entertained, and they will
only listen to or discuss comments with the author of the comment.
Please feel free to take an active role in this important matter in two
ways:
1. NEWTs Trail Rating -
Below is a spreadsheet summarizing the trails scheduled for mtn. bike
removal. This is a document provided by our organization, Northeast
Washington Trail Blazers Association. Follow the instructions on the top
and submit your trail-rated spreadsheets electronically to me using my
E-address above. (Make no alterations to the spreadsheet, only fill in
yellow cells with 1 - 5, and please do not REPLY TO ALL as that will "spam"
all members with up to 100 emails; I will tally all electronic responses.)
The NEWTs Board will decide how to present the tallied results to the NFS.
2. FOREST SERVICE COMMENTS:

Let me clarify my role in this important issue. As the secretary on the
NEWTs Board, my role is to get the relevant data in front of you, and
provide the summarized ratings to the NFS. I am not leading this issue. I
am a facilitator. If there is a leader, he/she will come from the
community; e.g., those of you who are passionate about this issue.
