project areas are in Sumatra, Kalimantan,Sulawesi, and other part of Indonesia,
with the head office located in Jakarta.We are currently looking to fill the
following position:
Coconut Agronomist – based in Sukabumi
Location
The Coconut Agronomist will be based in Sukabumi (West Java), withregular
visitation to Lampung, and possibility to visit the head office inJakarta.
Duration
2 years, March 2021 to February 2023.
Duties and Responsibilities
Reports directly to the ProgramManager, s/he works closely with stakeholders to
ensure the outputs andoutcomes of the project are delivered, including to
provide technical solutionsfor good coconut agricultural practices with Farmer
Field School (FFS)approach.
Specific responsibilities of the CoconutAgronomist include but are not limited
to:
- Managethe implementation of the project as planned
- Providetechnical solutions related to GAP for coconut farmers and
responsible forimplementation of Coconut Farmer Field School with specific
curriculum.
- Managecoordination with relevant stakeholders including local government,
localfarmer groups, and local communities.
- Managethe work to high quality performance.
- Providedetailed, accurate, and timely progress reports to supervisor
Requirements
- Min.Bachelor degree in agriculture or related discipline. Advanced
degreepreferred.
- Experienceand demonstrated ability to implement GAP with Farmer Field
School approach andfamiliarity with training system management.
- Experiencewith coconut sugar cultivation, including growth cycle, pest
management, andfertilizer.
- Experienceand capable to work together with local community, local
government, and variouslocal stakeholders.
- Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills in Bahasa Indonesia.
- Ableto work independently with limited direct supervision in remote rural
settings.
- Ableand have permit to drive motorcycle.
