Urgently Required: Project Coordinator
Based in: Waingapu, Sumba Timur, NTT
REPORTS TO: Program Manager
Expected commence date: August 20, 2020
Lutheran World Relief (LWR), a U.S. based non-profit developmentorganization
engaged in seeking lasting solutions to poverty and reducing risk,is seeking an
experienced Project Coordinator to implement their project in SumbaTimur. This
position will be hired under consultant contract until 30 September2020 and
upon performance satisfaction, the person will be hired until September2021
with possibility for extension until 2022 under definite employment contract.
The Project Coordinator (PC) is responsible for the field-basedaspects of the
Management of Resource for Agroforestry Development in East Sumba(MARADA)
Project.S/he will ensure the overall project implementation as planned, build
networkwith project stakeholder in village, district as well as provincial
level,identify and coordinate possible approaches for project sustainability,
bycarrying but not limited to task below:
1. Increase community capacity in natural resourcemanagement, including but
not limited to forest, savannah and mangrove
2. Ensuring stakeholder participation in allproject cycle
3. Conduct organizational strengthening by developplanning, implementation,
monitoring and evaluation to community group
4. Coordinate with local government and any organizationthat may collaborate
for better contribution to the project and activitiesimplementation
5. Organize, plan and assist community (group) fortheir livelihood
development according to project design
6. Manage all project document at field level
7. Supervise Field Facilitators, provide coachingand problem solving, when
needed. On regular basis, discuss on LLR (LeadershipLearning Review) with Field
Facilitators and updated the result to ProgramManager
8. Taking initiative in provide recommendation forproject approaches based
on updated information or situation in community
9. Work with field staffs, develop work plans,implementation schedules, and
reporting timelines in conjunction with ProgramManager
10. Monitor budget spending at project level andnotify any action needed to
respond to budget spending
11. Ensuring the project report and all theirmonitoring and evaluation meet
required standard
12. Ensuring that project activities areimplemented based on plan, report any
delay and recommend any possibleapproaches to make the project provide better
impact to community
Minimum requirement:
- Deep commitment to LWR’s core values and ability to model those values in
relationships with colleagues and partners
- 3-5 years progressive experience in village development planning,
facilitation in managing and implementing program that related to natural
resource sustainable management and livelihood
- Knowledge of program cycle including design, monitoring and evaluating
development projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with local government, community
groups and other stakeholder
- Proficiency using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail and web browser software
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work independently as well
as in a team environment
- Ability to provide written and oral reports in English preferred
- Understanding local culture is desirable
- Willing to be based in Waingapu, Sumba
