The WorldAgroforestry (also known as ICRAF) in Southeast Asia is the region’s
leadingagroforestry research-in-development organization which generates
science-based knowledge about the complex role treesplay in agricultural
landscapes and rural livelihoods. As part of the Centre’swork to bring
tree-based solutions to bear on poverty and environmentalproblems, researchers
– working in close collaboration with partners – aredeveloping new
technologies, tools and policy recommendations for increasedfood security and
ecosystem health.

About theposition
The Palm Oil and Cocoa Policy Analyst will analyse existing regulation and
policy of palm oil and cocoa at regional, national, and provincial levels;
identify smallholder supply and quality issues at country level and in the
major production areas, and work with all project partners to identify
interventions that direct investments into farmer cooperatives and rural
advisory services.
Key in this regard will be to understand: a)the role that public sector has in
terms of creating an enabling policy andregulatory system at regional (e.g.
ASEAN), national, and local levels, and b)the scope, level, and provision
modality of services required at each stage ofthe value chain to maximize
overall performance. Such services typically include marketintelligence, R&D,
technical assistance for adoption of best managementpractices, systems for
management of pests and diseases, and management oflabels (e.g. Geographic
Indications).

Requirements
· Minimum education bachelor’s degree (S1) in forest management,
environmental law, social-political science, or regional/rural development.
· Minimum 2 years of relevant working.
· Experience in working with NGOsand government institutions.
· Contribution in process of national/subnational regulation
developmente.g. PP/Perda/Pergub/Perbup is valuable experience.
Personal Competencies
· Good knowledge on policy analysis regard to development planning,
environment, and sustainable development.
· Goodnetworking skills and knowledge on local and national NGO’s in
Indonesia.
· Goodknowledge of negotiations.
· Excellentinterpersonal skills and ability to work well in
multicultural teams.
· Goodunderstanding of time management.
· Strongcharacter, multitasking person and able to work under pressure.
· Wellorganized; able to meet deadline.
· Willingto learn new skills/knowledge related to the scope/content of
