Job Title : Field Officers - for Livestock emergency preparedness
and response for areas at high risk of volcanic eruptions
Duty station : Yogykarta/Solo and Bali,Indonesia, with in-country travel
as required
| General Description of task(s) and objectives to be achieved
The Field Officer for Livestock Emergency Preparedness and Response (Merapi
Clusters and Agung Cluster) shall work under the overall supervision of the FAO
Country Representative, the overall technical supervision of the Chief
Technical Advisor (CTA) of the FAO ECTAD Programme in Indonesia, and day-to-day
technical supervision of the Indonesian National Technical Advisor (NTA) for
Livestock Emergency Preparedness and Response. Furthermore, the Field Officer
will work in close collaboration with the Local Government authorities and key
stakeholders in Central Java and Yogyakarta provinces including the Directorate
of Animal Health (DAH), Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health
Services, BNPB, as well as other national authorities, FAO technical teams and
agencies responsible for coordination of Provincial response to volcanic
eruptions, notably from Mt. Merapi volcano.
Responsibilities
· Support the implementation of the project’s field activities as
identified in the Project Document. This includes engagement with the local
counterparts, collecting data, assisting the NTA, and other FAO team members on
implementation of the project.
· In consultation with the project NTA and CTA, follow-up on the
implementation of project work plans, monitor and report on progress and
expenditure following FAO, the government and donor agency guidelines;
· In consultation with the project NTA and CTA, support teams in
preparation of events related with project field activities including but not
limited to:
o Development of a local case study
o Running table-top and simulation exercises
· The Field Officer must liaise with local government counterparts to
identify, collect and upload relevant project data in a timely manner and
agreed format.
· The Field Officer must identify relevant local SOPs and revise them
as required.
· Perform other related duties as requested by the supervisor.

Required Competencies
|
|
Suitable Academic Qualifications include:
· Graduates from Veterinary faculties or
· Graduates from Agriculture faculties or
· Graduates from Geological faculties (volcanology major) or
· Graduates from Emergency Management faculties

|
Technical Competencies and Experience:
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in a development project or in similar
project field activities;
· Experienced with the MS Office, including database building (Excel)
· Working languages of English and Bahasa Indonesian
· Familiarity with operational issues in field work, data collection,
database management, and report generation
· Ability to work in a multicultural / multinational team
· Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
· Ability to work with remote supervision and results oriented
· Priority will be given to candidates with prior experience working
with livestock or working on natural disasters
· Possession of a motorcycle and driving license to perform daily
duties
· Priority will be given to those who live in project site area
(Yogyakarta, Solo areas and Bali)
· Availability of at least 5 days /week in the period of
November-December 2020, with onward extension into 2021
