Job Purpose and Background
Do you want to have a global impact on saving forests? Have you got
experience working with regional governments?
We are searching for a Senior Engagement Officer focusing on forests and
agriculture for Southeast Asian States and Regions (with Indonesia as a
priority country). As part of an ambitious new global project this new role
will help advance jurisdictional approaches towards no-deforestation
commodities.
You will work across the Forests, Policy, States and Regions as well as
regional teams across CDP to ensure highest impact is achieved, delivering
on a range of project outputs, such as engagement with governments,
delivery of workshops, and contribution to policy briefs, relating to
sub-national governments in Southeast Asia. Reporting to the Asia Pacific
Lead, Cities, States and Regions, you will use your forests expertise to
support engagement with sub-national governments to build awareness in the
market regarding jurisdictional approaches.

*About the Cities, States and Regions Team *
CDP Cities, States and Regions provides the global platform for cities and
states/regions to measure, manage and disclose their environmental data. We
work with around 1,000 local and subnational governments annually to manage
emissions, build resilience, and safeguard water security, forests and
people. We are nearing a tipping point in mainstreaming environmental
action, and cities, states and regions are at the heart of this transition.
*Key responsibilities include: *
· Establish relationships and engage with multi-stakeholder
jurisdictional initiatives and other key stakeholders
· Support research and analysis of jurisdictional interventions and
action at sub-national level in Southeast Asia and contribute towards
development of policy briefings for policy makers
· Engage with Southeast Asian States and Regions with a focus on
Indonesia to share CDP’s insights and policy briefings
· Support Southeast Asian States and Regions in their disclosure to
CDP
· Deliver in-person and virtual training workshops to States and
Regions
*You will have the following skills and experience:*
*Essential criteria: *
{ Minimum 3 years professional experience or equivalent in sustainable
development and forestry or agriculture, and/or policymaking roles;
{ Demonstrate experience working with data and/or analytical tools;
{ Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
{ Fluency in English and preferably one other Southeast Asian language
(e.g. Bahasa Indonesia);
{ Knowledge and interest in jurisdictional approaches to sustainable
agroforestry practices;
{ Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and deliver
projects on time;
{ Experience working collaboratively with a range of teams and external
stakeholders, and liaising across different time zones and cultures;
{ Competency in computer skills and proven ability to learn and become
proficient in new IT systems quickly.
This is a full-time role based at CDP’s in Indonesia reporting to the Asia
Pacific Lead, Cities, States and Regions.
Competitive salary dependent on experience. 24 days’ holiday, annual
discretionary bonus (depending on company performance), flexible working
opportunities and other benefits.
