PROJECT COORDINATOR
1 (one) position based in Kupang
ROLE PURPOSE:
Save the Children in Indonesia is changing for the better. We've begun to build
a national organization that aims to be a strong, local, and self-sustaining
voice for children in Indonesia. To this end, SC Indonesia has been designated
as a "Member". As 'Member' Indonesia has been identified as part of the next
way of new member development, which focuses on strengthening and localizing
our voice for children in strategic middle income countries. Indonesia has been
authorized by member ballot to start fundraising locally as a first step
towards building a financially sustainable local organization. Future work will
also involve developing a strong local governance structure and building key
partnerships with local government, the private sector, local civil society
among others. Success of the pilot phase will set the Indonesia on a pathway to
full membership
The Project Coordinator will responsible to lead program implementation both
directly implement by Save the Children or by local implementing partner. In
collaboration with Technical Program Manager, s/he will ensure all program
activities are implemented according to the plan and of quality. S/he will lead
Project Officer in implementation of program activities as well as close
coordination with local implementing partner to ensure timely and quality
program implementation by partners. S/he will be responsible for identifying
capacity building needs of project team and to ensure timely and quality
programmatic delivery as well as monitoring impact and sustainability.
The post holder will contribute on achievement of the global KPIs on Operations
Delivery, and contribute to achievement of global KPI' as follows:
* Awards management
* Global Management Indicators
* Humanitarian and Emergency Response
In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be
expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working
hours accordingly.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Education and experience background
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in education or community development or
any relevant advanced degree preferred. Extensive and substantive relevant
practical experience may be considered in lieu of a Master's Degree
* Relevant experiences to Basic Education programs is highly expected
* At least 5 years experiences in managing programs with international NGOs.
Skills and Knowledge:
* Understanding of education and child protection
* Excellent project/programme management skills
* Good analytical and conceptual thinking
* Excellent communicator and high level of presentation skill
* Excellent interpersonal, and negotiation skills
* An understanding of government policies in education; employment and
training sectors and ability to apply it to Programmatic works
* Proven skills in project/programme development and report writing
* Ability to develop and manage extensive networks and contacts (
employers; stakeholders; education & training)
* Proven advocacy skills
Behavioural Competencies:
* Good team facilitator and member
* Willingness to stay in remote location and travel at times in difficult
conditions
* A commitment to high quality of work and efficiency
* Low resistance to change
* Concern for details
