Nutrition International isimplementing MITRA Youth, a project supporting Weekly
Iron Folic AcidSupplementation (WIFAS) for prevention and reduction of Iron
Deficiency Anaemia(IDA) among school-going adolescent girls, in selected
districts in twoprovinces of Indonesia: East Java and East Nusa Tenggara. MITRA
Youth is fundedby Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).
The issue of adolescent nutrition cannotbe solved by the health sector alone,
but it needs support and contributionsacross programs, across sectors,
professional organizations, and alldevelopment partners.
National NutritionDay commemoration in 2021 is an important momentum in
raisingawareness and increasing commitment from various parties to jointly
buildnutrition towards an accomplished healthy nation, among others,
throughbalanced nutrition education and supplementation of Blood Supplement
Tabletsfor young women.
By utilizing the momentum of the 61st NutritionDay, it is hoped that
stakeholders including the community and governmentelements will have a high
commitment to participate in improving nutrition andpublic health status
through the commemoration.
National Nutrition Dayis celebrated by Public Nutrition Directorate, Ministy of
Health, and theirstakeholder every year with different theme. This year’s theme
is “Remaja SehatBebas Anemia” (Healthy Adolescents Free from Anaemia). East
Java ProvinceHealth Office (PHO) will celebrate and conduct a webinar and
requested NI’ssupport.
Nutrition International would liketo support East Java PHO to commemoration the
National Nutrition Day byfacilitating one webinar. This event is also to
promote NI’s programs widelyand to strengthen NI branding in Indonesia
