COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
The Community Development Officer is developing and manages communities in
natural resource management. S/he uses the full range of participatory methods,
tools, and processes to meaningfully engage communities in the planning,
implementation of the program. S/he provides administrative and project
management support and other general assistance to program staff and
consultants working towards the achievement of social objectives, conservation,
or stewardship goals.
These may include one or more of the following functions:
* Work together with the team to develops and implements conservation
strategies and institutional best practice that suits with local community
* Facilitate communities in their initiatives to take part in natural
resource management, climate change mitigation, livelihood development, etc.
* Organize and facilitating meetings and workshops at the community level
* Support and strengthen local institutions (community groups, village
leaders, etc.) in administration, financial management, and other strategic and
technical areas
* Coordinate and help build the capacity of local NGO partners, as needed
* Support to connect community institutions with government, village,
sub-district and district levels, private companies, NGOs, etc.
* Collect, document and analyze various types of data and information
through focus group discussions, key informant interviews, household survey,
etc.
* Provide technical and logistical support during field trips, etc.
This position reports directly to the Community Development Coordinator. S/he
will be based in Kudus, Central Java Province.
Qualifications:
* BA/BS, law or business degree and 3 years’ experience in natural resource
management or related field or equivalent combination of education and
experience
* Experience negotiating complex agreements
* Experience communicating with the public and/or media both in writing and
verbally
* Experience using applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Web
Browsers
* Experience in training and curriculum design
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
The Community Development Coordinator is responsible for engaging and
supporting communities in natural resource management. S/he uses the full range
of participatory methods, tools, and processes to meaningfully engage
communities in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program.
S/he provides administrative and project management support and other general
assistance to program staff and consultants working towards the achievement of
social objectives, conservation, or stewardship goals.
These may include one or more of the following functions:
* Develop a strategy to establish a collaboration between communities and
corporations related to the social forestry partnership framework
* Develop monitoring and evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of
the partnership framework for both communities and corporations
* Involve in the implementation of plan VIVO or others method to measure
carbon stock that provide incentive to communities
* Coordinate with district/provincial government especially community
development institution (BPMD/BPMK)
* Leads and manages team which supports and improves conservation efforts
* Strengthens relationship with local government in Kudus
* Maintain effective working relations with key stakeholders such as
government representative, private companies, NGOs, etc.
* Facilitate communities and village government to link with government
agencies at the different levels, private companies, NGOs, etc.
This position reports directly to the Director for SIGAP Alliance. S/he will be
based in the project site in Kudus, Central Java Province.
Qualifications:
* BA/BS degree and 5 years’ experience in conservation practice or
equivalent combination of education and experience
* Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including managing
finances and coordinating the work of other professionals and partners
* Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives
and managing performance
* Experience developing partnerships (partners, community, government)
* Negotiation skills
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
The Community Development Specialist is responsible for engaging and supporting
communities in natural resource management. S/he uses the full range of
participatory methods, tools, and processes to meaningfully engage communities
in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the program. S/he provides
administrative and project management support and other general assistance to
program staff and consultants working towards the achievement of social
objectives, conservation, or stewardship goals.
These may include one or more of the following functions:
* Together with his/her supervisor and other team members, develops and
implements conservation strategies and institutional best practice that suits
with local community
* Support the development of innovative scientific methods, analyses,
tools, and frameworks to meaningfully engage communities in development and
natural resource management initiatives
* Facilitate communities in their initiatives to take part in natural
resource management, climate change mitigation, livelihood development, etc.
* Build and strengthen local institutions (community groups, village
leaders, etc.) in administration, financial management, and other strategic and
technical areas
* Help link communities and village government with government agencies at
the different levels, private companies, NGOs, etc.
* Coordinate with district/provincial government especially community
development institution (BPMD/BPMK)
* Coordinate and help build the capacity of local NGO partners, as needed
* Collect, document and analyze various types of data and information

WATER CONSERVATION PROGRAM MANAGER
The Water Conservation Program Manager leads the water conservation project(s).
S/he builds strategic, scientific and technical capacity in the field, and
develops key partnership with public and private organizations to identify and
resolve technical issues and to widely communicate solutions and best
practices. S/he addresses the natural system needs, engage local community to
support local conservation efforts and negotiate complex and innovative
solution with government agencies. S/he is responsible to provide technical
inputs and scientific recommendations. This position also required to conduct
field data collection, literature review, reports writing and develop proposals.
These may include one or more of the following functions:
* Together with his/her supervisor and other team members, develops and
implements conservation strategies and institutional best practice that suits
with local community
* Support the development of innovative scientific methods, analyses,
tools, and frameworks to meaningfully engage communities in development and
natural resource management initiatives
* Facilitate communities in their initiatives to take part in natural
resource management, climate change mitigation, livelihood development, etc.
* Help link communities and village government with government agencies at
the different levels, private companies, NGOs, etc.
* Coordinate with related district, provincial and central governments
* Coordinate and help build the capacity of local NGO partners, as needed

This position reports directly to the Director for SIGAP Alliance. S/he will be
based in Jakarta.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years experiences or Master's degree in
water related science field (i.e. hydrology, geohydrology, environmental study,
geology, geography) and 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of
education and experience
* Experience managing complex or multiple projects, including staffing,
workloads and finance under deadlines
* Good understanding of conservation with landscape planning and payment
for environment services (PES) approach
* Good understanding of hydrology modelling tools such as SWAT, InVest
(Natural Capital), etc.
* Supervisory experience, including motivating, leading, setting objectives
and managing performance
* Experience synthesizing, interpreting and communicating scientific
information
* Experience negotiating
* Experience working with cross-functional teams
* Experience working and communicating with a wide range of people
