CountryPurpose:
Islamic Relief Worldwide inIndonesia was operation since 2003 following the
MOU signing with theMinistry of Home Affairs. The objective of IRW in Indonesia
programme is tocontribute to the social welfare of the Indonesia people and to
alleviate thesuffering. The main sector for the programme include:

- Education
- Child Welfare
- Shelter
- Disaster Risk Reduction
The geographical area areBanten, NTB, Aceh and Central Sulawesi province
directly implementing or through partners.
Islamic Relief Worldwide in Indonesia is looking torecruit Marketing Specialist
Consultant, based in Lombok – Nusa Tenggara Barat.

Context of this Consultancy
The MushroomCultivation and Weaving business Development project is part of
sustainable livelihood activities aiming at increasing income ofpoor people
especially the female headed households in order to lift them upfrom poverty
trap. The mushroom cultivation activities has beenintroduced to poor
communities in Lombok Barat and Central Lombok district since 2014 focusing on
producing the mushroom,market it, and process it into various processed product
such as crispy, icecream, satay, etc. And currently the livelihoodstaff is
preparing to implement processed product development into powdering,drying, and
canned mushroom. The product ofmushroom is directly sold to local market
through middlemen who are picking theproduct on the site and sell it to the
market.
The intervention of WeavingBusiness Development has been also begun from 2017
located in Desa Batujai,Central Lombok District. The activities include
capacity building and supportfor microfinance of yarn to produce weaving
products, market it, and producethem into various derivative products of
weaving, such as wallet, women handybags, goodie bags, etc. The products are
currently sold at local market.
Starting from October 2018, current projectis supporting additonal300 poor
households to get involved in mushroom cultivation and 300 poor weavers toget
access to microfinance for yarn and weaving equipment.Due to highsupport to
those commodities, the production of both fresh mushroom and weavingproduct are
now abundant. The marketing is one of the biggest challenges inthis activity.
Thus, there is a need for marketinnovation in order to sell the commodities in
national andinternational market to improve the profitability of the business
for theentrepreneurs for their better living.
Objective
The objective of this consultancy is to assistthe farmers and the weavers in
linking to their potential markets. It can bethrough linking them directly to
their potential markets and building marketingsystem and/or through increasing
the value add and quality of the products’marketing in term of more developed
and various products, better pricing,better targeting of customer and
segmentation, and ready promotion meansincluding for nartional and
internationalmarket target.
Outcomes:
The outcomes sought for this consultancy fromthe marketing specialist are:
1. Link the mushroom and weaving products topotential markets
2. Value add of mushroomproducts that meet with nationaland/or
international market are enjoyed by the farmer groups;
3. Higher income received by the farmer mushroom and weaver groups
generatedfrom mushroom business and weaving products;
4. Customer loyalty topurchase products from the supported mushroom farmers
and women weavers is established from nationaland international market that can
be shown from the long contractgeneration
5. Means of product promotion is functionalincluding online marketing
channel.
Output
The outputs to achieve theoutcomes as of the following:
· Potential markets for Mushroom and Weaving Products areidentified.
· Marketing strategy to increase value add of mushroom product isdeveloped
and drafted
· Different derivative product and packaging of mushroom andweaving
products that meet national/international standard is produced
· Certificate of fulfillment for national/international marketingstandard
is produced
· Online marketing channel in two languages (Indonesianand English) is
developed and functional for mushroom and weaving products
· A long contract from local, national, and/or internationalbuyers to
purchase 50% of the mushroom product with good price is signed
· A nationaland/or international exhibition is organisedand pariticipated
by the farmers’ group toestablish long term market linkages.
Activities
The consultant is requested to propose theactivities to achieve the outputs and
outcomes
Timeline
The timing forthe consultancy is expected throughout the project cycle and will
startfrom December2020 to June 2021 (with posibility of contract extension for
staffs).
Specification for the consultant
· Individual or institution that is expected to stay in Lombokduring the
consultancy contract
· Experience in setting up and implementation of marketingstrategy
· Having vast knowledge and marketing network in local,national, and
international level
· Having experience and ability to set up and develop promotionstrategy
using offline and online media
· Having vast knowledge of national and international marketingstandard
Skilland Competencies:
· University degree of ecomomy orsocial background or related field in
Masteror Bachelor'sdegree in the relevant studies
· Proven years of marketing agribusiness products, relatedexperience in an
NGO or a commercial environment
· Preferable in mushroom and/or weaving background
· Proven experience ofanalyzing, internal control, effective coordination
in marketing scope, work experience in multicultural environments;
· Good management skill
· Good writing and communication skill
· Excellent knowledge of computer operation (Windows, Excel, PowerPoint)
· At least 3 yearsexperience for Master Degree or 5 years experience for
Bachelor Degree in marketing andbusiness
· At least two years experience in the community approach
· Strong interest in development work with respect for confidentiality and
commitment to IslamicRelief overall aims and objectives, including gender,
equality and equalopportunities in all aspects of Islamic Relief’s work
ACCOUNTABILITY:

towards accountability, specifically to our beneficiaries and tointernational
standards guiding international relief and development work whileactively
engaging beneficiary communities as equal partners in the design,monitoring and
evaluation of our field project
