*Background:*
‘Aisyiyah (http://www.aisyiyah.or.id/) is a Muslim women's organization
founded in 1917 in Indonesia. ‘Aisyiyah is one of the largest non-profit
religious women's organizations in Indonesia. This organization focuses on
Islamic movement, *da’wah*, and *tajdid *in all areas of life including the
field of health and education. In New Implementing Period (2018-2020),
‘Aisyiyah has been chosen as Principal Recipient (PR) of Global Fund to
carry out a “Community TBC-HIV Care Program” to represent the Indonesian
Civil Society. ‘Aisyiyah is responsible to coordinate community level
activities of Sub-Recipients (SRs) as the representative of Civil Society
Organizations (CSO’s) that currently covers 14 provinces and 130
districts/cities in Indonesia. To meet the current need for technical
advice in all medical aspects of Tuberculosis (TB) elimination program,
there will be a need to hire Medical Specialist.
*Position Description:*
Medical Specialist will be responsible for all the tasks and functions
related to the medical aspects and activities of TB elimination program at
PR TB Aisyiyah. The main responsibilities are including to provide
technical advice and guidance on medical aspects of TB elimination program
(including Drug-Sensitive, Drug-Resistant, TB-HIV, and TB in children) and
to work collaboratively especially with Case Management Coordinator to plan
and implement case management program for DR TB in PMDT hospitals. Medical
Specialist will work under direct supervision of Senior Project Coordinator
and Program Manager of PR TB Aisyiyah.
*Qualifications:*
· Have a degree in medical science; Candidate with relevant
professional accreditation or higher degree (Master) is preferable;
· Have at least 2 years of experience working in healthcare settings
(hospitals or primary clinics);
· Have experience working with TB patients or in Poli TB settings is
advantageous;
· Have experience working on local or international projects to tackle
health issues;
· Have experience working with local or international
organizations including
Muhammadiyah or Aisyiyah (preferable).
· Excellent inter-personal, inter-cultural and teamwork skills, hard
worker and respect deadline;
· Have the ability to work independently and with the team.
*Tasks and Responsibilities:*
· Plan and implement all works and tasks related to medical aspects
and activities of the program (including Drug-Sensitive TB, Drug-Resistant
TB, TB-HIV, and TB in children).
· Provide technical advice and guidance on TB program implementation
including to review materials for trainings and for media and campaign and
to review program reports and results.
· To provide quality assurance especially on medical aspects for
monitoring, evaluation and learning purposes including to ensure the
accuracy and high quality of indicators, tools, forms and reports used and
produced by the M&E Coordinator and MEL Specialist at the national and
sub-national levels;
· Work collaboratively with Case Management Coordinator to implement
case management program in PMDT hospitals including to conduct the training
and implementation of the program in the field.
· Field visits for monitoring of the program will be required as
needed.
· Collaboratively work with other relevant stakeholders (including with
the MoH and Aisyiyah organization at all levels as needed;
· Responsible for updating and reporting activities related to medical
aspects of the program to the Senior Project Coordinator and the Program
Manager.
· Carry out other tasks given in accordance with the needs of the
program.
This position is located in Jakarta with the initial contract of 6 months
with possible extension for another 6 months or until the end of the
program based on performance evaluation. It is expected that the consultant
to work full-time for the program or specific arrangement will be required.
