Context
Islamic Relief Worldwide is anindependent humanitarian and development

Relief Worldwide is a UK basedInternational relief. We have been fighting
poverty and injustice for 30 years,in a world in which over three billion
people still live in poverty.
CountryPurpose:
Islamic Relief Worldwide in Indonesiawas operation since 2003 following the MOU
signing With the Ministry of HomeAffairs. The objective of IRW in Indonesia
programme is to Contribute to thesocial welfare of the Indonesia people and to
alleviate the suffering. The mainsector for the programme include:
- Water and Sanitation
- Sustainable livelihood
- Education
- Child Welfare
- Shelter
- Disaster RiskReduction and Climate Change Adaptation
- Health and Nutrition
The geographical area are Banten, NTB,Aceh and Central Sulawesi province with
the operation directly Implementing orthrough partners.
Research Call for Proposal
ThisTerm of Reference is made to seek qualified researcher(s) on liquefaction
inthe area where Islamic relief and the District Disaster Management Agency
isnow implementing DRR project in Central Sulawesi focusing on building
communityresilience against the future shock caused by natural disasters. The
researcherwill be responsible in carrying out desirable outputs as described
below:

Locationof Research : Jono Oge Village, Mpanau Village and Lolu Village
Key Duties & Responsibilities ofConsultant:
1. Develop methodology of research with comprehensive references; 2.
Conductthe research;
2. Identify and conclude the liquefaction triggering factors withdeep
analyses and develop the scenario for the potential future liquefactionwith
measurable calculation;
3. Develop micro zonation mapping for liquefactionpotential in the targeted
villages with clear demarcation of safe and potentialhazard zones up to
sub-village level based on its potential severity (Red,Amber, Green zone);
4. Consult with the key stakeholders including the national andsub-national
disaster management agencies to seek legal permission for the research;
5. Consult with the communities living in the three targeted villagesto
seek for their participation during the research process to ensure theirsense
of belonging;
6. Produce report on research findings after having thoroughconsultation
with the key stakeholders: communities, national and sub-nationaldisaster
management agencies, and other relevant bodies.
Requirements
1. Organization of research / Higher Institution / Research Individuals
2. Having previous experiences in liquefaction research.
3. Expertise in geology, geophysics and land science.
4. Owning equipment for liquefaction research.
5. Having previous experiences in collaborative work withhumanitarian
organizations will be an advantage
