TheSUPA (Sustainable Use of Peatland and Haze Mitigation in ASEAN) Component 1
isa regional programme implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für
InternationaleZusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH with the objective to strengthen the
ASEANSecretariat (ASEC) and ASEAN Member States to implement the APMS and
NationalAction Plan on Peatlands (NAPPs). SUPA Component 1 is co-financed by
theFederal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety
(BMU)and European Union (EU).

We are seeking a qualified Indonesian candidate for the followingposition:
Internship
- Responsibilities
Theintern shall support the preparation and implementation of the SUPA
Component 1 pilot sites in coordination with SUPA Advisors:
- Assist in compiling and consolidatecurrent methods for sustainable peat
management to develop a manual/field guidefor implementation at pilot sites in
Indonesia and Malaysia.
- Support in preparation of workshops andevents at the pilot site.
- Tasks
The following tasks provide a framework and can be adjusted duringthe
internship:
- Assistin collecting data and information through literaturereview (English
and Indonesian literature) to gather information on methods forsustainable
peatland management.
- AssistSUPA advisors intensively to develop a manual/field guide on
methodsfor sustainable peatland management.
- Assist the team in preparing events(e.g. trainings, workshops, meetings,
study tours) and participate in theplanning and organizing process of the
events.
C. Requiredqualifications, competences, and experience
Education
- Student in amaster's degree program in forestry, environment, or other
relevant field;recent graduates are also encouraged to apply
Skill and knowledge
- Interest andsufficient knowledge in forestry and environment issues
- Excellent command in both spoken and written English
- Good communication and writing skills
- Excellent command of MS – Office (Excel, PowerPoint,Word, Teams)
- Experiencein literature research and expert interviews
- Workexperience related on peatland or forestry will be advantage
