Title : Consultant Revitalization Seeds Officer
Duty Station : Jakarta, Indonesia

Duration : 2 (two) months start in February 2020
*Background*
Since April 2019, Hivos working together with Mauliru Organic Farmers Group
in East Sumba to cultivate around 3.2 hectares of demonstration plot of
local variety. The area is in Mauliru village. The activities of this
program are:
1. Revitalization of local variety of Sorghum, Jewawut (Setaria italica)
and Hanjeli (Coix lacyma-jobi L.) as alternative food crops aside of rice
and corn. Hivos believes that seeds can be produced, used and distribute by
farmers.
2. In an effort to re-supply these most extinct local food plants. Not only
the program, Hivos also supports capacity building of farmers in East Sumba
through field school activities and application of Good Agriculture
Practices (GAP) with organic farming systems as a sustainable agricultural
solution.
By November 2019, the revitalization program of local food plants produces
positive results, both in the demonstration of technology used and the
cultivation of the local food crops. Furthermore, the program provides
examples of the provision of seeds of local food plants that have
contributed to the best agricultural practices on Sumba Island.
*Aim of the job*
The consultant will be work together with Case Study Consultant to develop
a case study result based on the program implemented in Mauliru and develop
a full report that can be shared within Hivos internally and externally.
Prepare a sharing sessions events with multistakeholders, collaborated with
Badan Ketahanan Pangan Kementrian Pertanian, the consultant will prepare
all the think tank for the events.
*Scope of work*
The consultant is expected to:
1. Lead on organizing the event of sharing sessions.
2. Work together with Case Study consultant to finalized brochure design
3. Ensure the brochure produced in good quality content and storytelling
*Qualifications and Experiences : *
• Proven experiences more than 2 years in organized event collaborated with
government
• Knowledge and experience doing event preparation in short time
• Deliver report in timely manner.
