Chemonics International seeks a senior-level expert in advanced energy systems
deployment and renewable energy (Obj-1-Lead) for the anticipated
“IndonesiaEnergy Program” activity funded by the United States Agency for
InternationalDevelopment (USAID). This5-year activity seeks to improve
Indonesian energy policies and planning andincrease investment in advanced
energy systems, particularly renewable energy,to expand access to energy, drive
inclusive growth, and reduce poverty.
The request for proposal (RFP) has yet to bereleased but is expected on January
31th, 2020 with an anticipatedstart date of the activity on September 30th,
2020. We are looking for a highlyadaptable individual who can navigate change,
continuously learn and improve, facilitate learning, build strong
relationships, and focus on results and impact.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinate andoversee the implementation of specific tasks to meet
contract objectives for increasinginvestment in advanced energy systems
deployment, particularly renewable energy
- Liaise with the staff of USAID/Indonesia,government agencies, regulatory
bodies, private sector stakeholders
- Develop annual work plans and budgetsin accordance with USAID annual
planning cycle
- Draft technical deliverables, reports,presentations
- Provide leadership and oversight toachieve project deliverables within the
agreed-upon budget and timeline
- Manage a cadre of local andinternational technical experts and
subcontractors
Desired qualifications include:
- Advanced degree in public policy, economics,business administration,
electrical engineering, civil engineering,environmental engineering, or a
related field.
- Minimum8 years of experience in managing and implementing energy programs
inIndonesia, especially in the following areas:
- renewableenergy; and
- electricutility and/or power sector management and planning; and
- privatesector participation and investment in energy sector development.
- Practical experience working with a range ofprogram partners, including
government agencies (USG and host), regulatorybodies, utilities, the private
sector, NGOs, civil society, consumers, etc.
- Demonstrated supervisory work experienceincluding supervision of technical
teams of energy professionals to effectivelyrespond to complex assignments.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical andproblem-solving skills, and
exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- An excellent record working with other donors onenergy sector reform
programs
- Fluency in English
