Weare an International NGO concentrating on conserving and securing the
ecosystemof Bukit Tigapuluh in the Jambi Provenance of Sumatra, Indonesia.
Therole is varied and requires a person who will work from basic bookkeeping
allthe way to producing year-end financial statements and Donor reports
toInternational Government agencies.
Theposition is based at our office in Jambi City, Sumatra.
Weare looking for a committed individual who views this position as a
long-termopportunity.
Afteran initial two-year contract is completed, year three will see the
positionholder, visiting another FZS project area overseas or our Headquarters
in Frankfurt,Germany.

Job Summary:
The Head of Finance will report directly to the Indonesia Programme Managerand
will closely co-operate with the grant coordinator and finance department
inGermany, as well as Project Managers and staff in country.
Overall purposeof the job
The purpose of the job is to manage efficiently andtransparently the financial
resources, thereby supporting the FZS Indonesia Programmein its delivery of
conservation outcomes and impact as per FZS strategy.
MainOutputs
· An efficient and transparent financial management andreporting for FZS
and partner organisations.
· Effective financial management systems in place andoperational across
the FZS Indonesia Programme
· Legal obligations in Indonesia met for FZS and partnerorganisations.
· Support to outpost projects on SOP implementation
· Contractual commitments with donors fulfilled
· Effective and motivated staff in the Finance andAdministration Department

Mainresponsibilities
Accounting
• Ensure that prudent financial management practices arefollowed and that
the organisation’s assetsare accurately recorded and protected.
• Ensure effective administrative and financialmanagement systems are
developed and implemented to enable the FZSprogramme/projects to produce
accurate accounting information, to record all ofits financial transactions and
to meet donor requirements, and that these areoperational across the programmes
and projects of FZS Indonesia
• Ensure that FZS-Indonesiacash flow is efficiently managed byrequesting
that funds are transferred into Indonesia and between bankaccounts to ensure
that all expenses are paid when required.
• Maintenance of the Fixed Asset Register and records for all
FZS-Indonesiaassets.
• The preparation andoversight of annual accounts and theannual audit within
Indonesia, inorder to meet statutory Indonesian lawsan including submission of
annual auditreport to HQ with explanatory notes
• Ensure that staff payroll is processed accuratelyand in a timely manner
each month
• Ensure all transactionsare booked to the Accounting system weekly.
Legal& Risk Management
• Ensure that the FZS Indonesiaand Programme and Projects’ statutoryfilings
in Indonesia are completed and lodged with the authorities in anaccurate and
timely manner.
• Contribute to ensuringthat FZS Indonesia’s legal obligations are
discharged and that the organisationmaintains a prudent approach to financial
and operational risk management.
• Ensure FZS legalobligations in Indonesia are met with respect to all
financial, administrative,taxation, legal and staff related aspects.
Managementof Staff
• Line-manger of the finance team
Budgeting& Planning
• Manage the annual and ad hoc budgeting for FZS –Indonesia/ individual
projects
• Develop with seniormanagement and the Regional Coordinator the future
financial strategy and business planning for FZS in Indonesia
Reporting
• Provide support to theProject Leaders and other senior FZS staff by way of
regular financial reporting and analysis on a monthly basis
• Preparation of third party donor financial reports
• Ensure contractualcommitments and expenditure reporting requirements to
donors are met
FinancialManagement
• Provide support toProgramme and Project Managers, other FZS
programme/project staff regardingfinancial management
• Analysis as requested.
• Expenditure forecasts

Job requirements
a) Qualificationsand experience - required
· Working towards or gained a professional accountingqualification such as:
· Association of CharteredInstitute of Management Accountants (CIMA) or
· Association of CharteredCertified Accountants (ACCA) or
· Association of CharteredAccountants (ACA) or
· Chartered Institute ofPublic Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA)
· Association ofAccounting Technicians (AAT)
· InternationalAssociation of Bookkeepers (IAB)
· 5 Year’s middle or senior financial management inthe commercial or
not-for-profit sector
· Management consulting experience or experiencedesigning and implementing new
management systems (e.g. financial, humanresource and/or administrative) in an
organisation
· Exceptional interpersonaland written, verbal and listening communication
skills (excellent written and verbalskills in English and Bahasa Indonesia)
· Proven understanding that the role ofadministration and financial
departments is to provide a support service forthe delivery of effective
management (in this case conservation management andoutcomes)
· Commitment to providing high-quality, accurate andtimely information
· Ability to both think strategically and providemanage detail on a daily
basis to ensure operational excellence
· Experience of preparing and conducting audits
· Knowledge of electronic/online banking andMicrosoft Office with MS-Excel to
an advanced level
· Ability to work to tight deadlines under pressure
· Able to work effectively with non-financiallytrained professionals
· Knowledge of Indonesian law,particularly labour, tax, NGO and environmental
law
· Willingness to live and work in Jambi, Sumatra
· Ability to travel to project areasin Sumatra, often travelling and
livingunder basic conditions in remote areas
