National Support for Local Investment Climates (NSLIC) /National Support for
Enhancing Local and Regional Economic Development (NSELRED )
The National Support for LocalInvestment Climates (NSLIC) / National Support
for Enhancing Local and RegionalEconomic Development ( NSELRED ) Project is
undertaken in partnership with theGovernment of Indonesia through the National
Planning Agency (BAPPENAS) withthe financial support of the Government of
Canada provided through GlobalAffairs Canada (GAC) with capacity building for
improving local investmentclimates and local economic development in selected
Districts in 2 Provinces -Southeast Sulawesi and Gorontalo.
NSLIC/NSELRED Project is currently looking "Environmentand Climate Change
Consultant", Jakarta-based.
Key responsibilities and duties are summarized below:
1. Review andrevision to the NSLIC Environment Analysis in the PIP, in
accordance with theGovernment of Indonesia and GAC policy/standards to ensure
the achievement ofNSLIC gender equality results.
2. Workingclosely with national government provincial and district/city,
partners andrelated CSOs to develop ownership over the environmental and
climate changes asan integral element of NSLIC.
3. Collaboratingclosely with the NSLIC technical team staff, specialists
and counterparts toidentify key entry points for addressing environment and
climate change such asthe Working Group action plans.
4. Providingsupport to the NSLIC technical team to ensure the effective
implementation ofthe NSLIC Environment and Climate Change Analysis, including
building thecapacity of the team and government partners (as required).
5. Monitoringprogress in mainstreaming environment and climate change
through field visitsand participating in work planning and progress review
meetings to ensure it ismainstreaming in Annual Work Plans and that relevant
results are captured.
6. Putting thesystem in place for collecting and disseminating timely,
accurate, detailed,reliable and up-to-date environment and climate change
information to supportmainstreaming in the implementing of project activities.
7. Documentinglessons learned and good practices in the environment and
climate change. Thisresponsibility will include both collecting relevant
materials from Indonesiaand other countries as models for NSLIC and
disseminating NSLIC lessons andgood practice in order to improve visibility and
coverage of NSLIC environmentdan climate change work.
8. Maintainopen communication with local stakeholders, project partners and
staff.
Requirements:
A degree in a relevant issue inIndonesia and 5-10 years’ experience with
project design, development andmanagement.
Demonstrated ability toprioritize tasks, manage time and complete projects in a
fast-paced, changingenvironment with minimal supervision.
Strong critical thinking skills,a positive attitude, and a pro-active approach.
Fluency in English, and anability to write clearly and vary writing style to
meet needs.
Accuracy and thoroughness, andattention to detail.
Demonstrated culturalsensitivity.
Experience with Government ofIndonesia related ministries and officials, within
the knowledge or nationalpolicy research environment will be highly regarded.
