SFCG has been working in Indonesia since 2002 and works to promote
socialcohesion through work with government agencies, youth, media, and
women’sgroups across the country.
Search forCommon Ground has made Design, Monitoring & Evaluation (DM&E)
apriority within the organization. Supporting by an internal agency,
theInstitutional Learning Team and country programs are upgrading
techniques,skills, and expectations in the area of DM&E to further improve our
abilityto design, monitor, conduct, and evaluate intelligent, effective, and
meaningfulprograms to make our mission a reality.
Summaryof Position
The SFCGIndonesia program has specific D&ME needs that will be managed by the
DME Officer(part-time, 50%) with a possibility to expand to a full-time level
of effort, basedon the growing program development. The position-based is
located in Jakarta,Indonesia and reports to the Country Director of SFCG
Indonesia.
Design,Monitoring & Evaluation (DM&E) Responsibilities
The DM&E Officer will be dedicated to the following responsibilities,liaising
daily with projectManager to meet their specific DM&E needs. The DME Officer
will be primarily responsible for coordinatingthe research, design, monitoring
and evaluation, and organizational learningefforts of SFCG projects conducted
in Indonesia and develop and execute atransition plan for SFCG Indonesia posts
2022.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Createand implement project logic frameworks, indicators, targets, data
collectiontools, M&E plans.
- Providetimely, quality support, data collecting, and coaching to the
different project coordinators tomeet their specific DM&E needs;
- Contributeto identify and synthesize good practices and lessons learned.
- Coordinateand manage external evaluation contracts and teams;
- Maintaina database to ensure all program outputs and results are
accurately recordedand coordinated to inform program staff;
- AssistProject Manager in providing monthly and quarterly reports on all
activities,outputs and relevant outcome indicators to the Country Director and
ILT;
- Assistwith creating an overall Knowledge Management strategy.
- Meetregularly with SFCG Indonesia staff to review the progress of projects
againstproject objectives, indicators, and deliverables, and give meaningful
input andrecommendations into the project management and institutional
learning;
- Participatein and contribute towards internal evaluation processes;
- Workwith the ILT’s Senior Manager to provide support and guidance to the
differentprojects in the development and implementation of their M&E work plans;
- Bedirectly engaged in the continuing development of the organization, its
missionand its staff, through the sharing of experience and knowledge;
- Contributeto design, monitoring and evaluation with new project
development and proposaldevelopment;
- Completeall other tasks as required.

responsibilities.
MinimumQualifications
Essential:
- Minimumof two (3) years of work experience in a civil society or NGO
setting
- Atleast two (2) years of field-based data collection and analysis
experience
- Atleast two (2) years of work experience in design, monitoring, and
evaluationmethodologies
- Bachelor’sDegree in a related area required (Master’s degree preferred)
- Knowledgeof logical framework and results framework planning and
evaluationmethodologies, and the ability to coach and train others in their use
- Excellentinterpersonal and networking skills, as well as the ability to
conductprofessional relationships
- Strongcommitment to values in data-based decision making, transparency,
communityempowerment, methodological rigor, and program learning
- Highstandards of integrity, professionalism, and impartiality
- Ableto work independently and effectively in a team environment
- Detail-orientedand highly organized, with a proactive approach
- Abilityto multi-task and work to meet tight deadlines
- Proficientin use of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as
webbrowsers
- Excellent ability to communicateeffectively in Bahasa and English, both
verbally and in writing
- Abilityto travel within and outside of Indonesia
HighlyDesirable:
- Demonstratedtechnical capacity to provide support and guidance to project
staff on design,monitoring and evaluation
- Demonstratedtechnical capacity in the design, implementation, and analysis
of various datacollection tools including interviews, surveys, focus group
discussions, andpre/posttests.
- Demonstratedcapacity to coordinate evaluations, including experience
developing evaluationterms of reference and recruiting and managing consultants
- Experienceworking internationally and specifically in conflict/fragile
state environments
- Knowledgeof data analysis software (e.g. SAS, SPSS)
