CONSULTANCY FOR LIFE SKILL MODULE DEVELOPMENT ONYOUTH WORK READINESS AND
DOCUMENTING BEST PRACTICES OF ENERGY PROGRAM MODELS
BACKGROUND
ABOUT CHILDFUND INDONESIA
ChildFund has been in Indonesia since 1958, with MoU in 1973 withMinistry of
Social Affairs. ChildFund Indonesia is currently working with 16partners at
grass root level throughout 8 provinces, by providing technicalassistance and
financial support to ensure the improvement of conditions, notjust on
child-by-child basis but all children within the family, community andstate. In
total, to date ChildFund in Indonesia with partners are working in 177villages,
across 31 districts of 8 provinces in Indonesia,(South Sumatera, Lampung,
Banten, West Java, Jakarta, Central Java, Yogyakarta,and East Nusa Tenggara)
approximately 27% of Indonesia’s provinces ChildFundIndonesia project
beneficiaries totaling to approximately 713,000direct and indirect individuals.
We tailor our interventions to the very different developmentaltasks and needs
of children as they progress from infancy through youngadulthood. We pursue
systems change that improves conditions not justchild-by-child but for all
children within a community and nationally. Pursuantto our objectives, we are
engaging with communities, local and nationalGovernment and ministries in the
sector of Child Protection, Education, Health,Emergency Response, Disaster Risk
Reduction, Food Security, EconomicDevelopment, Gender Mainstreaming, ChildFund
Indonesia directly assistsand provides programmatic benefits to children and
families across its workingareas.
ChildFund Indonesia works in partnershipwith community based organizations
throughout Indonesia to suppport children and youth who are Deprived,Excluded
and Vulnerable (DEV) so that they can improve their lives and become young
adults, parents and leaders who will bring lasting andpositive change in their
communities.
To 15-24 yearsold, we aim to ensure a skilled and involved youth.
We assist youth with the critical transition to adulthood bypromoting programs
that offer Training to acquire the skills needed to enterworkforce and meet the
challenges of adulthood; Skills training to help youthunderstand and express
emotions in ways that foster safe and fulfillingrelationships; Enhanced social
and leadership skills training so youth canbecome meaningfully involved in the
betterment of their communities. ChildFundIndonesia also seeks to strengthen
the ability of families to care for andprotect their children, while helping
communities to better support families.In achieving these, we implement:
· Providing life skills training, peer education and peer support inform
of youth forums.
· Promoting youth participation at village decision making andencourage
youth active participation and involvement at village planningprocess
· Providing access and knowledge on Reproductive Health to youth inour
working areas
· Providing access to role models for youth to learn best practicesand
lessons learned from successful young adults
· Providing access and materials in form of trainings and groupdiscussions
to support youth work readiness in enabling youth to access andcompete in job
market and in starting up business.
Child protection is a central thread that binds and cuts acrossChildFund
Indonesia programming and embedded in the programming within eachlife stages,
with ultimate goal to ensure, as part of civil society, thatchildren are free
from violence and exploitation. We are focusing our effort inreducing
children’s vulnerability to violence and exploitation through acommunity based
child protection mechanism, built through a bottom up process,and in
partnership with children, community, schools, government includingbusiness
partners to create protective environment for children.
PURPOSE
a. To carry out training needs assessment; and based on the assessment
then develop a comprehensive training module on Youth work readiness
(withspecific modules for YouthQualities and Youth Skills, Professional
knowledge and Skills,Technology knowledge and Skills, Entrepreneurial
Competencies, WorkplaceCompetencies)
b. To document project/program models in YouthDevelopment program cycle,as
a best practice. The documentation should capture historical facts of the
project/program ineach of its stages in the program cycle
The External Consultant is expected to:
SCOPE OF WORK
a. Produce a well-written and comprehensivetraining module on work
readiness life skill based on the above, includingrecommendations for:
· Schedule for training;
· Identify key resource persons; · participants;
· Conductand Facilitate trainings (TOT) on the modules.
· Post -training evaluation and impact assessment.
· Develop monitoring tools in regards ToT.
· Contextual module approach
· Module must be contextual with partners in ourtarget area (Central
Java, DIY and NTT)
· Child protection in the context of CBCPM must bethe basis in the
module
b. The Documentation of Best Practice ofProject/Program Models intends to
present the readers with the information andunderstanding on how to replicate
the program/project. The documentation should be display using interactive
platform.
The external Consultantis expected to work closely with the Program Specialist
(youth development),Partnership Portfolio Officer, Partnership Portfolio
Manager and partnersproject coordinator
TIME FRAME:
Maximum working daysproposed is 15 weeks started from 17th February to 22ndMay
2020.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
· Previousexperience in related module development especially on youth
economicempowerment
· Provenability to conduct training of trainer
· Provenability and experience in participatory methodology including
quantitative andqualitative methods.
· In depth knowledge, professionalexperience and understanding of
documentation,of completed project/program, as according to its project/program
cycle.
· Preferableconsultant with profound knowledge on economy and geographical
condition of CentralJava and East Nusa Tenggara.
Interestedconsultants should submit a1-page expression of interest, curriculum
vitae, proposed general work plan,and proposed budget to carry out the
assignment.
