Context
Islamic Relief Worldwide is anindependent humanitarian and development

Relief Worldwide is a UK basedInternational relief. We have been fighting
poverty and injustice for 30 years,in a world in which over three billion
people still live in poverty.
CountryPurpose:
Islamic Relief Worldwide in Indonesia wasoperation since 2003 following the MOU
signing With the Ministry of HomeAffairs. The objective of IRW in Indonesia
programme is to Contribute to thesocial welfare of the Indonesia people and to
alleviate the suffering. The mainsector for the programme include:
· Water and Sanitation
· Sustainable livelihood
· Education
· Child Welfare
· Shelter
· Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation
· Health and Nutrition
The geographical area are Banten,NTB, Aceh and Central Sulawesi province with
the operation directlyImplementing or through partners.
ResearchCall for Proposal
This Term of Reference is made to seek qualifiedresearcher(s) on liquefaction
in the area where Islamic relief and the DistrictDisaster Management Agency is
now implementing DRR project in Central Sulawesifocusing on building community
resilience against the future shock caused bynatural disasters. The researcher
will be responsible in carrying out desirableoutputs as described below:

Contract Period: Base on Activity
Location of Research: Jono Oge Village, Mpanau Village and LoluVillage
Key Duties & Responsibilities ofConsultant:
1. Develop methodology of research withcomprehensive references; 2. Conduct the
research;
3. Identify and conclude the liquefactiontriggering factors with deep analyses
and develop the scenario for thepotential future liquefaction with measurable
calculation;
4. Develop micro zonation mapping forliquefaction potential in the targeted
villages with clear demarcation of safeand potential hazard zones up to
sub-village level based on its potentialseverity (Red, Amber, Green zone);
5. Consult with the key stakeholdersincluding the national and sub-national
disaster management agencies to seeklegal permission for the research;
6. Consult with the communities living in thethree targeted villages to seek
for their participation during the researchprocess to ensure their sense of
belonging;
Produce report on research findings afterhaving thorough consultation 7. with
the key stakeholders: communities,national and sub-national disaster management
agencies, and other relevantbodies.
Requirements
1. Organization of research /Higher Institution / Research Individuals
2. Having previous experiencesin liquefaction research.
3. Expertise in geology,geophysics and land science.
4. Owning equipment for liquefaction research.
5. Havingprevious experiences in collaborative work with humanitarian
organizations willbe an advantage
