Major League Baseball is offering a large number of spring training games
(referred to as Grapefruit League games for many of them which originate
from Florida) streaming audio broadcasts over the internet for free.

After the regular season starts, there will be a montly charge for access
to audio broadcasting of baseball games. There is also an archive of
games from 2002 that appears to require a paid account to access. If this
archive remains in place as years pass, an oral history collection of
professional baseball games from the United States and Canada will provide
a historical record with presence of reporter of what has transpired on
the playing field along with any commentary about the environment of these
events as they transpire. This type of complete archiving of games in
sports would open up tremendous vistas for those looking at past events in
sports contests, both in terms of detail of events and the emotional
content as key plays are made in games.
