Hello Everyone!
Our next meeting of the North East Ohio Server Based Computing(NEOCUG) Users
group will be on TUESDAY February 15th from 4:45-7:00 pm at the Cuyahoga County
Public Library Administration building at 2111 Snow Road in Parma. (see
directions at the bottom of this email)

This is going to be an excellent event and we have two great topics! I hope to
see you all there!

Please contact Matt Lesak if you can attend at:

MTLE@xxxxxxxxxxxx

We have a very exciting meeting planned for this month. Matt Lesak will speak
on FREE options to make a PC a thin client.

Then we will have Softricity in to tell us all about their suite of products.

Also more discussion on expanding the scope of our group to include all Server
Based Computing Technologies and maybe a possible name change! We also want
your input on topics you'd like to see.

Refreshments will be provided by Softricity.

Future meeting (March)tentatively we have planned Biopassword and Provision
Networks to present.

==========================================
Info on Softricity

If you need to increase the number of applications that can run on your
Terminal Servers, make more efficient use of your MetaFrame servers, deploy
applications and manage them with less effort, run application on MetaFrame
that are not Terminal Services aware, or even run multiple versions of an
application on the same server simultaneously, then you want to hear what the
folks from Softricity can do to help. Their SoftGrid solution for Terminal
Servers can:

Increase the number of applications that can run on a Terminal Server

Enable Non multi-user aware applications to run

Enable applications that conflict with other applications to run

Make more efficient use of a MetaFrame farm (reducing the total number of
servers needed)

Multiple versions of a single application can run simultaneously on the same
server

No siloing because of application conflicts (avoid DLL Hell)

Increase capacity through dynamic application deployment

Provide additional management effectiveness that accelerates MetaFrame
deployments

Reduce scheduled downtime due to application installations and upgrades

Better user profile management

Reduce application integration testing time

Bring you application conversion flexibility

Jason Freebern, Director of Enterprise Sales Central Region, for Boston-based
Softricity will present â??the next big thing for IT organizations running
Windows® based applications on Citrix® MetaFrame and/or Microsoft Terminal
Services.

They will do a live demonstration showing how Softricity?s SoftGrid®
technology eliminates the complexities, and accelerating the deployment and
management, of applications. SoftGrid transforms Windows® software from
products that must be installed locally into virtual services that are
centrally configured, managed, and deployed on-demand without altering the
computers on which they run â?? accelerating the entire application management
process for Windows® desktops, laptops and Citrix® MetaFrame® and/or
Terminal Services servers.

If your servers are under utilized because of application siloing, or if you
are challenged with a large number of applications to deploy across your server
farms, SoftGrid® can be the key to reducing your time spent reinstalling
applications on multiple servers every time there is a new release, and it can
open the door to increased operational efficiencies through server
consolidation.

==========================================

Softricity will host the meeting as well (i.e., provide refreshments).
