Dear Colleague,
The Department of Health Behavior and Policy in the School of Medicine at
Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is currently recruiting applicants
for fall 2017. Admission is limited and competitive and open to students
with clear career goals in social and behavioral sciences research.
Our program prepares students to plan, deliver, and evaluate ways to
prevent disease, reduce health risks, and improve quality of life; to
influence individual and community health and healthcare delivery; to
understand and influence communication as it occurs in a variety of
healthcare settings. Students work with expert faculty in a supportive
environment to complete faculty and student research projects. Our
graduates have received national and regional awards for their research.

Students admitted to the program can expect: dedicated mentoring, small
class sizes, travel assistance to present research and competitive stipends
for up to four years.
