library, virtual instruments, real time effects, automation, audio recording
and editing. There are several paid versions but if you're content without
saving or mixdown features, there's a free account available at
http://www.soundation.com/ .

02. FOLDERMERGE compares folders by their last edit date. access date,
creation date, and file size, then merges two like folders into one. Download
free at http://sourceforge.net/projects/foldermerge/ .

03. WINPARROT lets you record and control any Windows application. It
automates recurring tasks, loads data from an Excel spreadsheet into
applications, simulates multiple users to test applications, slows play speed
to demonstrate or train in an application, and schedules execution of macros.
It requires no installation and is a free download at http://www.winparrot.com/

04. VISUALIZE.ME. Those who are still searching for a better job will find
this service, currently in Free Beta, at http://vizualize.me/ , quite useful
and appealing. It takes your otherwise drab and boring resume and makes it
interactive and graphically exciting.

these neat -- and all free -- things on the Web:

Create screenshots from movies; record and control any Windows application to
automate recurring tasks, load data, test and demonstrate applications, and
more; determine if your password has been compromised; scan your system for any
changes caused by spyware, viruses, or human errors; automatically control
screen resolutions; get faster and easier to use indexing; paste and process
texts and files, automate keys, execute scripts, launch applications, bookmarks
and more; give a try to a couple of efficient and free firewalls; see if your
username has been registered on 159 sites; save space by finding and
eliminating duplicate images; block email you don't want; see how good you are
in a test of your knowledge about classic movies; and more, to include our take
on Web submission services, a possible scam.
