The archives are working now so I saw the pic. It does look like the same thing I saw which I have tentatively ID'd as Schreckensteinia erythriella. As I mentioned on FB, Schreckensteinia is now my favorite genus name! :) Ken Childs Henderson, TN Chester County http://tinyurl.com/FinishFlagFarmsMoths http://www.finishflagfarms.com ________________________________ From: kjchilds <kjchilds@xxxxxxxxx> To: "ncsc-moths@xxxxxxxxxxxxx" <ncsc-moths@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, May 20, 2013 3:58 PM Subject: Re: [ncsc-moths] Re: New moth I'd love to comment on this moth but I haven't received a copy of Jean's post, just this reply from Cecelia. Also there aren't any posts showing for May in the ncsc-moths archive on freelists so I can't look at it that way. :( Ken Childs Henderson, TN Chester County http://tinyurl.com/FinishFlagFarmsMoths http://www.finishflagfarms.com ________________________________ From: Mathis <weer@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: ncsc-moths@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, May 20, 2013 3:25 PM Subject: [ncsc-moths] Re: New moth Jean, The interesting thing to me is its legs. They look like twigs. Does anyone know if there is some purpose to that kind of legs? Is this Schreckensteinia erythriella? Ken had a similar one a few days ago. I have plenty of Sumac, which is apparently its host plant. Jean Obrist Cocke Co, TN
