The dates for the National Moth Week were chosen based on Brian's Moth Night dates. At first the plan was for a National Moth night(s) using Brian's dates but then it was decided there was a better chance of getting more people involved if it was spread over a week. The main conflict is that week is the same week that the Lepidopterists' Society will be having their annual meeting in Denver. First I've heard of it. I think if at all possible we should coordinate our moth night with the national moth week since it sounds like others around the country may also be doing their own moth night during that period and it would be cool to compare results. I can't find the email where we discussed the date for next year's moth night and the moth workshop but my memory is we decided on a date earlier in the month outside of the moth week period. I hear what you're saying about not re-inventing the wheel. I guess it's your call whether we want to integrate our moth night into the national thing or not. I'd be curious what other's thoughts are about this.
