Kyle, based on the MPG range map I agree that S. auriferella could occur in NC.
I have now added it to my list.

Subject: [ncsc-moths] Homosetia/Stenoptinea Challenges

Hey everyone,

I photographed and caught a Homosetia/Stenoptinea tonight that I would like to
have some input on. I can't decide between Homosetia bifasciella
0287(http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=287) or
Stenoptinea auriferella 0296
(http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=296). Any ideas
on whether it might be one or the other, or should I just collect this moth?

Thanks,
Kyle
