By looking at the maps on BugGuide, BAMONA and the Moth Photographers Group, you might think that Garella nilotica is a relatively uncommon moth but I'm confident it is a lot more common than what those maps indicate. I think the problem is that it's tiny, incredibly variable, and it resembles a Tortricid but is actually a Noctuid.
