For about a week this species was seen every night underneath my sheet, and it was something I had never seen before. I caught one of them, but it doesn't quite look like the individual in the attached photos. I believe that the photos show Coleotechnites canusella, 1797, a species I am not sure has been recorded in NC. But C. ducharmei, 1806, is also pretty similar, though I am not sure where it has been recorded, just somewhere in the southeast. Though I do not see the white line towards the back of the wings, which would appear to signify 1797, I feel that it is indeed 1797 because the pattern on the head matches that on the individual I saw. Has anyone ever seen this species before, or does anyone have any ideas? 1797 or 1806? Thanks, Kyle
