I'm still in NY and got the "same" moth on my sheet last night.I don't have time to study Bugguide now, so would I be in the area for X dolosa in Central NY ? Paul

Your moth looks virtually identical to the one that I photographed on May 31 and, after studying BugGuide, labeled Xestia dolosa.

Hi All,

Imaged this moth this morning and believe it is H10942.1 Xestia dolosa, Greater Black-letter Dart Moth. Bug Guide says there are two closely related species (X. nigrum), which can be separate by region..

Yes?
