Hi Just a quick note from me to repeat Gareth's message and urge everybody to try to complete and send the postcards that were given out at last week's meeting which was so well attended. This is one of the most effective ways that each of us can make a contribution to the Pride in Sheffield campaign. In addition to the names and addresses that were recently sent out, it might be a good idea to write to your local MP - the free Internet-based service 'FaxYourMp.com' (http://www.faxyourmp.com) makes it very quick and easy to send a fax to her or him. Just enter your postcode, type a message and send it. The site suggests, however, that it is not a useful strategy to target MP's with 'form' letters. The Sheffield City Council website - http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/ - has a list of wards and councillors with their email addresses, so perhaps that's another avenue to explore... Emails and faxes can be a very good way of getting a message across but postcards and letters do make more of an impact. My employers held a Summer Festival in Leeds which was addressed by the local MP. He advised that Members of Parliament are almost duty-bound to respond to all hand-written letters that they receive - so dig out the old Basildon Bond and get writing! Cheers Bill ...CHANGING SHEFFIELD HAS NEVER BEEN SO MUCH FUN - SO WRITE ABOUT IT!... _________________________________________________________________ Choose an Internet access plan right for you -- try MSN! http://resourcecenter.msn.com/access/plans/default.asp
