Politics and recrimination aside, it seems to me that much of the debate about the NCPM's future is limited by the potential usability of the space. Were a means to be found that allowed daylight into the upper four drums, this would open up the way for any 'normal' daytime use - which the CIQ so badly needs. Replacing one of the upper tiers of steel panels with glazing would achieve this - there's a visual of how this might look at www.lampson.co.uk/ncpm. Done sensitively, there should be no need to compromise the architectural integrity of this landmark building that has come to symbolise Sheffield - for better or worse. Jerry Lampson
