I have not had much time to see if this fixes the problem. In what I came across on my own prior, this was one of the rabbit trails I went down, but did not pursue. Being as I am new to linux and not super proficient at installing and running these things, it takes me more time to do the simple task such as installing or running different types of programs. The instructions for read-edid weren't quite as simple for me as I'm sure they are for most. Lol. I did start on them, but I'm not quite there yet. I will keep you all updated as to my progress. Thanks for your help.
