I was looking for something like this but I have no idea about
electronic :-(

The NAS got a hardware watchdog timer (/dev/watchdog) so if the NAS dies
while its running the watchdog could help BUT it is currently not
working with the kernel :-( (but was with the 2.4 kernel)
