strangely enough, it turned out to be the power supply!I bought an external USB harddisk, which was on sale, so I could take the HDD out and put it in my NAS. I noticed it came with an adaptor similar to the one from my NAS, tried it, and it works! When I connect the old adaptor from my NAS to the USB harddisk, the disk starts and stops spinning every 2 seconds, so there is something wrong with that power adaptor, eventhough it does supply power (I tried with a light and got some light (5v) and brighter light (12v) on different pins!).... strange
anyway, now I have a spare (USB) HDD to mess around with, I have a couple of adaptors so I can power it up... ah the possibilities :)

Hi Remco, do you own a 2nd harddisk? or try to start the nas without a disk and check if you can access the web interface. Everything else would be guessing. -- flip Remco schrieb:Hi, My problem is not related to tinky, but I do hope someone can try to help me out... The HDD in my NAS2000 does start spinning anymore. The light on the power supply is on, the power light on the NAS is on. When I press the power button, the power light dims and the NAS light is also very low and nothing happens, no HDD activity (does not even start spinning). I somehow got into the web interface earlier (which was on 192.168.1.1 instead of .250, I tried to get into it later but failed) and it said "no harddisk found". Same thing in USB-more; no HDD activity. Unfortunately, I just moved so no desktop computer to try the HDD and no voltage meter to see if the power adaptor is still working or if the HDD gets power... Can you think of anything I could try? Thanks, Remco
