The state of the affairs is that the functionality is already implemented, but it's not exposed via API. The only thing that needs to be done to expose it is to add NN_RCVPRIO socket option. The reason why it was not exposed is that we haven't had a clear use case for it. I still think it's a good idea ("in case of overload process messages from this endpoint first") but you'll have to convice Paul that it actually makes sense.
