Yes. It have been deprecated.

In early days this was intended to allow for re-use of ZeroMQ language
bindings. We now have native bindings for all common languages.

As for applications, ZeroMQ and nanomsg are not 100% compatible
semantically, so there's not much point in providing ABI compatibility.
